Engineering Output Disclaimer

Last updated 9 August 2026.

This is a private preview in development. Nonlinear structural analysis is limited to the published supported-model envelope. Section proposals are generated designs requiring engineering review. Results are analysis output for engineering review, not certified design or regulatory approval.

Current status

DatumBlocks is in development and is not a released product. Nothing described on this site can be used today, and no analysis or design capability has completed its verification. Where this site describes what we are building, it is describing intent.

Scope

Intended preview scope: steel eccentrically braced frames, 1–6 storeys, orthogonal grids with a rectangular constant footprint, regular floor elevations, vertical columns and horizontal beams, rigid diaphragms, one declared base condition, full-height braced lines in both principal directions from an enumerated link arrangement, elastic protected members with nonlinear links, recognised catalogue sections with resolved SI properties and provenance, New Zealand code profile.

Out of scope: transfers, setbacks, skew grids, split or semi-rigid diaphragms, member offsets and releases, ramps, long-bay and podium features, analytical shells, distributed plasticity, concrete, walls, timber and masonry.

A model outside this scope will be refused with an explicit error stating why, rather than approximated. That is how the software is being built; it is a commitment about the finished product, not a description of something you can rely on today.

Engineering responsibility

Section proposals are generated designs. They require review by a suitably qualified engineer, who remains responsible for the design and its sign-off. A proposal that has not been analysed is unverified, and will be shown as unverified.

Nothing produced by DatumBlocks constitutes a compliance statement, a producer statement, or any form of regulatory or consenting approval, and it must not be presented as one.
